That way you will get it fixed permanently.
Reply:Probably can't - unless the tooth ache is on the top teeth, and you also have a sinus infection (cold, flu etc) ... that can cause tender teeth.
Reply:Make an appointment to go to the dentist, Then usually your tooth will stop bothering you, this usually works
Reply:Some quick fix ideas could include orajel, and cloves just pop a clove near teh tooth and let it hang out, it kinda makes you drool but numbs the area enough. It is not normal for one tooth to be especially painful or for the pain to last for a long time once the cold is removed (several minutes). It is also not normal for the tooth to be sensitive to hot. If it is decay, there are some over the counter medicines at your local pharmacy that will help. If the tooth is cracked, there isn't much you can do until you get to the dentist. If it is infected, you will need antibiotics. Basically, the only thing you can do is relieve some of the pain with over the counter medicines. Teeth have pressure receptors, not pain receptores. So, pain killers do not provide much relief. The pain will not quit/weaken much until the pressure from the infection around the root tip of your tooth gets smaller making it apply less pressure/less pain. Thus, you need some antibiotics to help relieve the infection.
Reply:Painkillers %26amp; a hot water bottle.. Also a shot of tequila or Hennessy doesn't hurt.
Reply:ER's are open 24/7. similar situation with my daughter a while back, and her dentist office not open. i took her to the ER and she was treated, good luck.
Reply:Go to the emergency room.
Reply:try crushing an aspirin and putting it into the tooth cavity itself, wouldnt hurt to pop a couple aspirins as well. you can also try to put a whole clove over the area and just press it there with your jaw sometimes this will offer temporary relief till you can get to a dentist
Reply:OMG that is the worst pain and after a while nothing helps but a dentist and the hospital can help but they will give antibiotics cause it will get infected now and that will cause even more pain u will need antibiotics and pain meds u must see a dentist asap find any dentist who will take u as an emergency cause all they do for the first appt is exactly what I just told u oh and they take an x-ray.Now your going to need a root canal.then they send you home and u go back when the infection is gone.Good luck.Oh there is a certain oil that tastes nasty i think its garlic oil of some sort it supposed to help if u rub it on your gums.u get that at your pharmacy.

MILLYhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01322249845550946893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7904383879522538433.post-53904839258904324432010-05-21T19:46:00.001-07:002010-05-21T19:46:19.825-07:00Can you die from a tooth ache? From a tooth ache? No. From an abscessed tooth? YES. The head and neck are very vascular and the infection from the tooth can be carried to the blood stream resulting in systemic infection, brain abscess and if you have a hear problem endocarditis. If you have a tooth that may be infected, seek dental care IMMEDIATELY.

Can you die from a tooth ache?
No, of course not.

Go to the dentist if you're worried.
Reply:no of course not. There is a movie with leonardo dicaprio where he is on an island and a guy gets a tooth ache, then an infection and it really messes with him. I hate tooth aches!
Reply:lmfao. no, of course you can't! but if you are in deep pain, you should visit your dentist/orthadontist immediatly.
Reply:No, but it can get infected and spread - rare but hey anything is possible. Is this normal?Had a root canal on my upper #4 pre-molar tooth ten days ago. Tooth is not sensitve to hot or cold, but has had a dull ache ever since. Pretty constant ache, minor though. Endo gave me some penicillan 4 days ago and there has been no change. Any advice?

Tooth has dull ache 10 days after root canal. The only time I had pain after a root canal was when the jerk who did it perforated the root. The feeling was that of a dull throbbing. I had developed an infection because of the perforation. Bottom line.......I lost the freaking tooth. The Endo prescribed antibiotic and is keeping his fingers crossed.
Reply:Yes, sometimes you can get it longer than a few days. It will help numb the tooth. Hope this or someone else's suggestion works. A tooth ache is the worst. Good luck.
Reply:clove oil has been used in dentistry for at least 100 years. Report It

Reply:You NEED to see a dentist, at least get a diagnosis for the pain. You may have an infection. Try icing it down for awhile, maybe change your prescription, try something stronger like naproxen 500mg 1 every 6 hours or even stronger is ketorolac 10mg 1 every 8 hours, for 7 days. Take these pain killers longer than you should and you might get something like a liver disease, painkillers are only temporary. Remember that.

Try locating a dental school nearby, they'll always help you and are a lot cheaper.
Reply:Drop a hammer from about 5 feet up in the air directly onto your toe. It sounds very painful........good luck!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Anbesol- get it dab it on a cotton rod and rub over the source of pain. Do it after you've eaten. Do it all day long every so many hours. I swear it will go away so long as it's not anything more serious.
Reply:Go to the drugstore and purchase some Ambesol (sp?). Also I heard powdered Aspirin or any other pain reliever placed within the decayed area will help with pain.

Why dont you go to an emergency dental clinic. If the tooth is that bad they will take it out and bill you.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Try ambusol for tooth pain. You may have to see a dentist it doesn't sound too good. If you are in pain and the pain pill doesn't kick in I think you could take another one. Call a RX and ask what the maxium amount of the pain killer you are using you can take to get relief. Always check with a Rx they can tell you and it is free.
Reply:This sounds like it is infected, if so use warm salt water and rinse. Also if you can find pure clove oil with help numb it up. The salt water rinse you can do several times a day. Don't swallow any. Just rinse it out. Then try ibuprfen for pain.

Good luck I feel for you. I just went through this 2 weeks ago.
Reply:take an aspirin...break it in half and put one half directly on your tooth. Hold it there until the pain goes away...which shouldn't be long. This is just temporary...you do need to see a dentist
Reply:The best antidote would probably be to pray over yourself. Just try it and watch how God heals your pain!!! BUT there is a catch you can't complain about and be impatient you have to believe and have faith that your tooth doesn't hurt anymore. Then keep saying that you are healed and the pain will be gone. TRY IT OUT!!!
Reply:A temporary fix is clove oil. the drugstore should have it dulls the pain and is an antiseptic. orajell will dull the pain. it is used for teething babies. (the active ingtrdient is xylocain hysrochloride. The stuff dentists use to freeze gums. But get to a dentist on Monday and get the tooth fixed.

Good luck,

Dan.
Reply:Get some LIQUOR
Reply:try anbesol just keep on putting it on there ....
Reply:Dentek makes a gel, 'max strenght toothache relief', it's the only thing left that works for me (stronger then anbesol/orajel).
Reply:i heard that cocaine works..rub it onto your gums %26amp; teeth where it hurts and it will for sure stop the pain because its makes your month numb. =)

MILLYhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01322249845550946893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7904383879522538433.post-8538303835880964552010-05-21T19:45:00.000-07:002010-05-21T19:45:15.867-07:00I have a horrible tooth ache!! Be sure to use a fluoride toothpaste
Reply:Advil, Advil and more Advil. Oh- and NyQuil if it is giving you problems sleeping. Also, go to the dentist as soon as possible.
Reply:first visit your dentist to evaluate your case...cause you will never know what causes the pain. there are sensitive teeth which are relieved with some commercialized toothpastes, there are cavities in the cervical part of your tooth - just above the gingival margin - tooth abraded from excessive force from brushing and using hard bristles. That case should be covered and restored with composite resin to allevate the sensitivity.

tooth ache from extensive cavities should be restored. If there is enough pressure or trouble in the area in which there is a nerve ending (and there are plenty of nerves in there) you may experience numbness in your cheek or lips. If you are having trouble with your teeth and it is creating numbness in your face, you definitely need to see a dentist. This is not a normal reaction to a toothache. If your tooth is abscessing (infected) then you must have it addressed or removed. You can get yourself into serious trouble if this is left unaddressed. Tap gently, on the tooth that is giving you trouble (use the end of a fork or spoon). If that "tap" sends you "thru-the-roof" then you need to see a dentist right away, you have an infection (an abscess). These types of things do not clear up on their own. Best of luck! Get help and you will feel with your lip again and feel much better!

If you have a tooth ache, and your lip goes numb, what's the problem?
you may have an impacted tooth that hit the nerve. better go see an dentist for an x-ray

football shoesMILLYhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01322249845550946893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7904383879522538433.post-29715848509659570612010-05-21T19:44:00.001-07:002010-05-21T19:44:27.650-07:00I have a bad tooth ache what can i do?i cant take painkillers because im pregnant, are their any home remedies any one knows of to help dull the pain until i can get to the dentist?

I have a bad tooth ache what can i do?
In order of increasing effectiveness:

1. You might get some relief from toothache drops or cloves if you are having hot/cold pain. If you have an abscess (deep dull ache), then antibiotics might help.

2. Paracetamol (Tylenol in the US) is fine, as long as you follow the dosages.

3. You may also have some paracetamol with codeine.

4. IF YOU'RE NOT IN YOUR LAST TRIMESTER, then you can also take some ibuprofen. This is usually the most effective form of toothache relief.

***PLEASE ASK YOUR PHARMACIST, and see a dentist as soon as practicable. There is absolutely NO reason why you can't receive dental work when pregnant. Find a decent dentist who is happy to see you, and doesn't say such nonsense.

There is NO RISK to the bub, even Xrays. You are at more risk to yourself and bub by continuing to have unecessary painkillers than seeking dental treatment.
Reply:Go to the dentist
Reply:It's nasty, but you can hold a clove stud between your teeth...

or... nasty also, wheat grass juice, swish it around in your mouth for a minute or two. Both help alleviate the pain temporarily.
Reply:It may be safe to take tylenol depending on far along you are. You should go see a dentist in case it absesses. There are numbing gels at the drugstore for a sore tooth or gum but I'm not sure of their side effects.
Reply:my mom always says, use baby anbesol, it numbs it for a while but you should be able to get to sleep. good luck!
Reply:What I did when my wisdom teeth were coming in was to eat really spicy foods with cayenne pepper. It tricks your brain out into thinking its a chemical burn so your body releases tons of endorphins. Might help some, certainly helped me with the tissue pain. Might work with teeth to as it tends to numb the whole area for awhile--you might wind up sucking on icecubes for a few minutes first though.
Reply:Go to a drug store and get oil of cloves. Put some on your tooth and it should dull the pain. Or get some of that orajel stuff for babies teething it will numb your tooth.
Reply:If it's throbbing and feels "hot", it is most likely infected. Apply an ice pack (not directly, but on your cheek). This will numb the area, but also take the fever out of the infection, which together will ease the pain
Reply:My daughter has used orajel to help her get through the weekend with a toothache. The important thing is to determine if the tooth is abscessed. One way of figuring this out is to drink something really cold - does the tooth feel better? If you drink something hot, does the tooth hurt more. If so, it could be abscessed and you need to see your dentist on Monday. He or she will start you on antibiotics right away so make sure to tell them you are pregnant.

Also, there may be some painkillers you can take while pregnant. Ask your pharmacist - they are experts at meds.
Reply:oralgel. It's topical and may not affect your baby.
Reply:get some ground cloves, add a little water to form a paste, and rub on the gum where the tooth is hurting. Hope this helps!
Reply:gargle salt water and go see a dentist
Reply:that liquid gel stuff and it nums your tooth then later you will regain feeling and it doesnt hurt as bad
Reply:quick and cheap but guaranteed put white rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip and apply it will work spit out any excess
Reply:buy some clover oil taste like crap but just put it on the tooth with a cotton bud the pain will die off but read the bottle first im a man i never had that problem of being pregnant.good luck
Reply:clove oil will sometimes work ....but the best I have found is mouthwash.....use Listerine....Hold it in your mouth on the tooth as long as you can stand it...the tooth will become "drunk" from the alcohol ....don't drink the mouthwash ...LOL. See your DOCTOR asap. Most dentists will not work on a woman with a pregnancy
Reply:I'm a dentist.

Tylenol is safe to take during pregnancy. Orajel lasts 15 min. What can relieve my pain until mondayI do not see the dentist until Monday and I am suffering from the most terrible cavity ever. It is located on the molar, and I rinse my mouth with salt water to dull the pain. I am on Aleve which I believe is the best. Any possible ways I can deal with the pain until Monday?

I have a terrible tooth ache from the cavity I got. Although if your tooth has abscessed these will offer little relief. If you have swelling, drainage or throbbing symptoms, it may be advisable for you to contact your dentist this weekend. He may phone in a prescription for antibiotics and pain med's so you won't suffer all weekend and so treatment can begin early next week.
Reply:Try Excedrin. Also, the active ingredient in sedative fillings that the dentist uses is clove oil. I would try that.
Reply:If it's really bad...take some Motrin. 600 mg. In that case, you'll need a pair of pliers, a fifth of vodka, 2 percodins and balls the size of Texas

How do you cure tooth ache without going to the dentist?
I suppose you could yank the tooth.

There isn't much else that will work in the long run.

People die from poor dental care - why are you avoiding the dentist?
Reply:Oil of cloves and ibuprofen as a temporary measure.
Reply:Not much you can do without going to the dentist. I would also be careful because often the troubles that are going on in your mouth are very connected to what is going on inside your body.
Reply:You can't cure it-but easing the pain until you can get to the dentist can be done by drinking colf beverages, some ibuprofen, or oragel works wonders.
Reply:Crush an asprin and pack it around your tooth, then get to the Dentist asap!
Reply:There isnt really any home remedy to cure a toothache but taking tylenol or motrin. Make an appointment as soon as you can so you can stop the pain before it continues to grow.
Reply:you don't cure a toothache without going to dentist. other than pulling it yourself. you probably need a filling. getting a filling isn't nearly as bad as letting it go %26amp; losing the tooth or getting infection in your system from poor oral hygeine/health.
Reply:Can't you go to the store and get something like Orajel to numb it? They have other stuff for tooth aches. Also maybe some ibufrophen or advil, aspirin tylenol....it works on some....or just get you a 6-pack (dont know your age) and when your done with it you won't even remember ....what tooth?
Reply:Oh, there is no cure. Hate to tell you this but your going to have to go to the dentist. I know it hurts, but in the long run you will feel much better.

Good luck

Alabama
Reply:To really cure it, you have to remove the cause.

To remove the cause, you need to either pull the tooth yourself or get professional help.

For temporary relief, take willow bark tea (bad for the stomach), apply OraJel, brush with Sensodyne toothpaste, chew willow twigs, or take aspirin (derived originally from willow bark). Some people apply whiskey or drink copious amounts.
Reply:If it's just a temporary ache, an aspirin or Tylenol should take away the pain. If it doesn't, a trip to the dentist is definitely in order.
Reply:If you have a friend that recently got really hurt or broke a leg or something, chances are that he or she has painkillers, strong painkillers. Get a few from them. But, uhh why are avoiding the dentist? its only going to get worse
Reply:Opt for Sensodyne toothpaste for everyday use.
Reply:clove oil it is the best thing since sliced bread an les you dont like bread then its just the BOOMB THY IT U MIGHT LIKE IT.

mind you it tasted like sh it
Reply:Sorry to say there is no permanent cure, but you can take something for discomfort. Unfortunately, as long as the problem is still there...the symptoms will remain. :(
Reply:No. You could have a cavity, or your tooth is growing. If it hurts for a couple days, go to the dentist. In the meantime, you go get this medicine that numbs your gums so you dont feel any pain. Its called Alcasalser (i think thats how you spell it). you can find it in the drug store. Good Luck!!!
Reply:oil of cloves, which you can get at a drug store, will help some unless you have an abcess. If you have a swollen place on your gum near the painful tooth, you really should get medical help as abcesses can be very dangerous if not treated properly. If it's just a cavity, the oil of cloves will help, but it will only get worse if you don't get it taken care of soon.
Reply:I say this with concern: PLEASE GO TO THE DENTIST! You may need to be on antibiotics if you have an abecessed tooth. You can use Anbesol by putting it on a q-tip and leaving this on the offensive tooth. Also, you can take up to 800 mg of Ibuprophen every 6 hours to alleviate some of the pain. It has been my experience when you have a toothache, it is hard to concentrate on anything else. The reason I say you may need an antibiotic is because if you are forming an abcess, this needs to be treated with oral antibiotics, therefore, going to the Dentist is the logical thing to do. If you are short on cash, most offices will work on a payment plan for you. Good Luck and Take Care!
Reply:Your answer is in the movie "Cast Away" where Tom Hanks shows us a perfect way to cure your tooth ache.
Reply:Someone replied clove oil and ibuprophen, and something like that is probably the only way, but you'll eventually have to go to a dentist -- and the sooner the better.

Oil of clove is a topical anesthetic you can put directly on the tooth -- usually gives some relief. The pharmacist will have it or a brand name that contains it. Ibuprophen (e.g. brand-name Advil) is my pain-reliever of choice for headaches, either that or acetomenaphin (e.g. Tylenol) or some combination of them maybe with a bit of caffein.

But I have been having trouble with a tooth I let go too long before I took it the dentist (who is in a small countryside clinic and makes his rounds only couple times a week). He did a root canal but I'd already let it go so long -- just lazy and depending on pain medicine -- he scolded me for letting it get so rotten and hard to repair. He's been working on that tooth for over two months and only two of the three roots are filled, the other one keeps abscessing, a minor infection that is slow to heal.

Anyway, all that for two reasons -- one, to convince you to go to the dentist as soon as you can -- the other to tell you about naproxen sodium, an analgesic specifically for inflamed joints and toothache. It works better for me than ibuprophen or Tylenol, and here in Korea it is marketed under at least three brand names specifically for toothache. I did an internet search for possible side effects and I judged it OK for me. It's over-the-counter brand name is Aleve. It works more slowly than ibuprophen or Tylenol -- takes about an hour to kick in, but it allowed me to sleep when the other pain medications weren't quite strong enough. Note that I never take a higher dose of pain relievers than what's indicated.

Wikipedia has a pretty good article with some cautions for pregnant women or those who might be taking certain other medications.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naproxen
Reply:You can't cure it in the long run. It will probably continue to get worse unless you do something about it.
Reply:u cant sometimes, depends whats happening. if hurting then it maybe too much acidity in your body coz it happens, i know! i have cacium flouride for it. natural remedies but if its an infected tooth or molar then it needs lookign at. why u avoiding? u have a phobia? or is it money issues? what ever it is, u need to sort it or it could get bad! why would u make yourself go throughpain when u can have it sorted. think od poor countries and ppl there. just get ove rphobia if it is or try to and if you cant, talkj to GP. he will refer u to therapist or have hypnotherapy.
Reply:Not sure ask ur dentist
Reply:Afraid you cant it could be anything for example a cavity or it may be an abscess either way you have to allay your fears and go to the dentist the longer you leave it the worse it will be.If you are afraid remember you know what a dentist is going to do but you don't with a doctor!
Reply:You cant, get the pain checked out
Reply:pull ya tooth out with pliers

MILLYhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01322249845550946893noreply@blogger.com0
