Severe tooth ache and 30 weeks pregnant...HELP!!!?
You could have a problem there......I'd say that you need to go to another dentist in your area ASAP. Its not such a specialized thing that you have to stay with one dentist. Don't get Xrayed and don't take antibiotics (for an infection) without checking with your OB.
Reply:Pregnancy uses your body's calcuim. After my first baby, I had to get alot of work done on my teeth. Before that I had excellent teeth. But after her, I need over 1 000 of filling and wisdom teeth pulled! This last pregnancy, I had leg cramps from lack of calcuim and magnessuim. Also, from the lack of calcuim, I had horrid tooth aches. I took calcuim supplements for awhile. Than I went to eating lots of milk and cottage cheese and stuff as the supplement I was on was expensive. But if one of those horrid toothaches came up on me... I took tylonel for a quick fix.
Reply:If you're in the UK you should be able to get free dental treatment while you're pregnant and there should be an emergency service even when your own dentist is shut. Don't suffer - ring their number and there should be some sort of message telling you how to get treatment out of hours. Good luck!
Reply:ring nhs direct and get another dentist as an emergency appt you shoudl get it free since your pregnant
Reply:this is really common in pregnancy - thats why pregnant women are entitled to free NHS dental treatment.
Is is because the developing baby is stealing all your calcium to make his/her bones and teeth etc.
Temporarily try using Bonjela, it will help, and phone NHS direct to find an emergency dentist local to you.
Here is the website link: http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/
Reply:Take it from me, ADVIL. Get it now, it won't hurt you or the baby, and from someone who's allergic to novocaine from the dentist, this is THE BEST PAINKILLER FOR TOOTHACHES!!!! Trust me, do your self a favor right now. and it doesn't have to be Advil, it just has to have IBUPROFEN. It works better than T3's, Tylenol, codeine, whatever. It WILL work.
If you need to kill a nerve for good, use clove roots. Jam one in the hole and leave it there, it won't bug you again. It draws out the nerve and deadens it, altho it tend to leave whatever's left a little on the weak side.
Reply:Get yourself another dentist. You can only take paracetamol when pregnant.Ask at your pharmacy if their isn't anything you can gargle with or you can take.
Reply:go to A and E.
Reply:if you can get hold of ambesol it is absolutly fantastic and you can take it whilst pregnant, although it is common for your gums to bleed whilst pregnant i would still get it checked out once your dentist is open again good luck
Reply:if you call NHS direct on 08454647 they will get you an emergency appointment with a dentist. as you are pregnant it wont cost you anything. i had the same problem when i was pregnant, the NHS got me an appointment the same day. hope you get it sorted.
Reply:orajel til u can get to the dentist. numbs the pain.
Reply:What does a tooth ache have to do with being pregnant? Try OraGel, or maybe some Tylenol. If that doesn't work prescription painkillers are what I would turn to... works wonderful for my back.
