I have been fighting with a tooth ache all weekend, I cried my self to sleep last night because of the pain, I know some of you might think that I am a baby but this tooth is hurting so bad, I am on Antibotics and have been for a week, the tooth thats hurting started hurting after starting the Antibotics for a different infected tooth! my dentist said that I should chew my food on the other side of my mouth and when I done that a different tooth started hurting me and hasn't stopped, I have tried Tylenol %26amp; Ibprofin (the only meds I can take) and neither helped at all, I have also tried salt water rinse, brushing my teeth, lemon juice, cold compress, warm compress, orajel, nothing seems to be helping I dont have any whisky to try that method I am home without a ride to get to a store or anything so home remedies would be the best if possible! thanks!
Tooth Ache Please HELP?
The change in chewing has obviously triggered something else (have you had a recent filling on the other side?) Sometime the muscles get thrown out of whack.
How to take the meds is important and WILL work, but the first dose won't be as effective as subsequent doses. Do not exceed the recommendations.
Take 4 tablets of Advil (800mg) every 6 to 8 hours (the second dose in 6 hours will be even more effective)
AND
Take 2 tablets of extra strength tylenol. (don't take extra tylenol) every 4 to 6 hours.
Take a hot bath. This will help to relax your muscles which are, no doubt tight. Try to think relaxation, sleep in the tub if you have to.
I hate to see people in pain on a weekend! Good luck !
Feel free to ask me more questions
Reply:try baby orajel
Reply:wow, you've tried a lot of things. Maybe you should ask your dentist what else you can try.
Reply:you should be able to stop it if you take enough tylenol. excedrin is better yet but if you are house bound use what you have. you can take six or eight at once if you must just once (unless you are very tiny). have a little something on your stomach.
brushing with really cold water might help.
Reply:Try rinsing with warm salt water. Then find another dentist that actually treats your problem.
Reply:You need to see a dentist, maybe a periodontist.
