Whats the best tooth ache remedy?

Take 800 mg of Ibuprofen which is prescription strength. It has an anti-inflammatory in it so it's going to work better than Tylenol or aspirin. And make an appointment to see your dentist asap.

Whats the best tooth ache remedy?
rinsing your mouth out with water mixed with a dash of salt
Reply:pain reliever medications... works fast but that's just temporary. Better go to your dentist so he/she can check it.
Reply:Toothaches aren't any fun, but there are ways to relieve the pain.

1) Use dental floss to remove any food particles wedged between your teeth.

2) Take an over-the-counter pain reliever, like ibuprofen or acetominophen, to dull the pain.

3) Apply an over-the-counter antiseptic containing benzocaine directly to the irritated area to relieve pain. Try Orajel or Anbesol. Direct application of oil of cloves (eugenol) is an herbal remedy that may help. Don't place aspirin or another pain reliever directly against your gums, as it may burn your gum tissue.

When to see your dentist:

-You have swelling, pain when you bite, a foul-tasting discharge, and redness... this indicates infection

-the pain persists for more than a day or two

-you have fever with the toothache

-you have trouble breathing or swallowing

The best way to prevent toothaches is to prevent tooth decay by practicing good oral hygiene. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and brush your teeth with a good cavity and tartar-fighting toothpaste twice a day, use dental floss (if you're not good about flossing, use a Reach Flosser... they're great!), and use a tartar-fighting mouthwash, like Listerine or Scope. The generic brands work fine, though.

The most common causes of toothache also include dental cavities, dental abscess, gum disease, irritation of the tooth root, cracked tooth syndrome, temporomandibular disease, impaction, and eruption. For a lot of these ailments, it's important to see a dentist in the near future.
Reply:pull it out
Reply:get rid of the tooth. Somebody told me about using gas swished around in your mouth for the pain, but he rode motorcycles and was kind of the hearty type.
