Tooth ache? cant get to the dentist til next week, what can i do?

Is the tooth a cavity or cracked or what? If it is a cavity they sell a clover wax that you can fill it with or a temporary filling that will stop air from hitting the tooth. the oil of clove is good too but hard to find and you usually have to call a pharmacist to find it but if it was my tooth I would be on the phone right now. they keep it behind the counter and it comes in a tiny little bottle and you put it on a q-tip and sponge it all around and in the tooth. It lasts for about 4 hours which is all Advil or ibuprofen is going to last too . The temporary fillings are at any pharmacy or good grocery store. I would hate being you until next week.

Good luck and stop gritting your teeth that makes it worse!!

Reply:get some whole cloves - keep them on the area it really works numbs the pain. highly recommended...... you will thank me i promise
Reply:Cloves work honest. or painkillers. All the best.
Reply:I am currently suffering excrusiating pain with my wisdom teeth, I find the best pain killer out there is Annadin Extra.

Reply:I guess you have to take pain killers till u get to the dentist.
Reply:Ouch! Get to your nearest chemist and ask for Albisol oil,(apologies for the spelling but say it as it sounds!) It will numb the area and get you through the week.
Reply:Punch the walls i did
Reply:Put some ice cubes on the affected area!! Bonjenla cool gel works well for sore gums - and make sure u use a sensitive toothpaste vitally important - try not to abrase the teeth in the meantime if u can help it and stay away from salty foods such as crisps!
Reply:Get some Oil of Cloves in your pharmacy. Tastes horrible but relieves the pain wonderfully
Reply:there's this toothpaste-like substance that you can buy at your local pharmacy, you just put it on your tooth, and the pain goes away temporarily. so check it out.
Reply:You poor thing - even your avatar looks like he's got a sore tooth! If you go to your pharmacist they can give you some liquid gels that help numb the gums and area around the root so you don't feel the pain. Naproxin Sodium is also good because it's a pain killer and anti-inflammatory if you're having gum trouble.
Reply:Go to your local drug store and buy these two items: ORAL GEL %26amp; ADVIL GEL CAPS.
Reply:use warm salt water..........

u can try guava leaves with warm water, but don't is it available here or not?

otherwise use pain killer for temporary relief....

really very pathetic
Reply:I've never tried this, but I have seen it suggested many places, so I have to believe that it works. Get whole cloves (spice section) and hold one between the tooth that hurts and the tooth above or below it.

One other thing that makes me believe that it does work is that the liquid that the dentist uses to numb the gum before injecting novocaine tastes like cloves.
Reply:Go with the clove oil. It really works.
Reply:Boots the chemist has an emergency kit,it contains everything you need for your problem it has tooth fill cement +mouthwash + stuff that smells like clove oil ,that will help you till you can get to a dentist...pain relief HAS to be paramol (its in a black box) hubby had an absess and the pain just went..they are excellent.highly highly recommended (they work quicker if taken with coffee, a paramedic told me that and its true
Reply:Hi there poor you,if you really can't get to a dentist there is not much you can do,but I'm sure if it was that bad you would find a way to get there some how,but if your face is swollen then you probably have an abscess and will need some antibiotics,so you could go to A%26amp;E but there is usually a long wait, can you not get to your dentist because there is no appointments until next week,if so phone again and say it's an emergency,i hope this helps and you get a good nights sleep, painkillers are ok but some are not good enough for dental pain, why not give your Dr a call and just ask for advise rather than call them out, good luck
Reply:Mr Wolf we meet again! :O)

go to your Local Boots, they have some stuff for filling holes in your teeth temporarily.

its like a plasticine that you roll into a ball and put on the hole/filling etc that needs to be filled.

it sets hard and last about a fortnight before it comes loose.

costs about £5 and it works!
Reply:chin up.

smile.

don't think about it.

take some painkillers.

if its really bad go and bug the dentists to give you an early appointment.
