I am having a tooth ache however its the gums between two teeth and not my teeth, what could it be?

My gums are not bleeding and the symptoms other than the soreness in the gums do not coinside with gingavitus?

It also does not bother me until I eat something. I never know its there.

It feels like a canker sore but, can you get a canker sore near the gums on your teeth.

Agreed, it could be something lodged between your teeth, or a small gum abcess. You really should see your dentist for an evaluation. Swollen gums and pain are not "normal" symptoms, especially if you have not been diagnosed with gingivitis. Generally it does indicate there is some problem where the symptoms are present.

Always visit your dentist for accurate information regarding your dental care.
Reply:I had something similar, it turned out to be a popcorn hull that had wedged between my tooth and the gum.

It may be a food particle, or a slight infection. The best way to determine the case is to visit your dentist. In the meantime, try rinsing your mouth with warm salt water, swishing really well in the affected area. That may flush out whatever may be in there.
Reply:Try flossing
