Earlier this week, I noticed that my left jaw was aching. I assumed it was because I had been drinking some very cold water on a very cold day.
Now it’s Friday, and it’s still there. It’s not keeping me awake at night or being a major problem, but it is there. I haven’t tried Advil or Tylenol as it’s not that big of a deal.
I’m 99.9% sure that it’s not any tooth. I flossed last night (as usual) and didn’t feel any problem. Brushing my teeth is the same as well.
When I feel around my jaw line, there seems to be a tight muscle (or the like) too. Can’t really tell though.
I do have a poor bite, so that could contribute.
Is this the sign of a tooth that’s going bad or just a jaw issue?
I have an appointment with the dentist early next week, but that doesn’t stop me from wondering!
Tooth/Jaw ache?
you are not giving a proper history. May be wisdom tooth problem.

Reply:Im having Jaw Pain and its hurting at the Very back- Im 100% sure mine if from Wisdom teeth pushing through.
* I gotta get those suckers pulled out very soon. I've had pain for 2 weeks
Reply:Lock Jaw?
Reply:it could be a gland that is located below your tongue. It can make your jaw hurt. It could also be fatigue, or you may be coming down with a cold. I did have a problem with the bone in my jaw. The bone was deteriorating around the teeth, and then there was nothing holding the teeth in. This is called a degenerative bone disease. It is good that you are going to the dentist, they can tell you if it is a muscle, a gland, or a bone.
Reply:it's probably just youre wisdom teeth comeing through thats if the pain is coming from the back of youre jaw.
Reply:I don't think it's that big of a deal, either. I think maybe you should swish some Listerine around in your mouth, before you go to bed, for a few days and see if that helps. I had something like this happen to me. I had already flossed and brushed and nothing seemed to help, so I used the Listerine and my pain was gone completely after a couple of days.
Reply:Put Vick's on the area you have pain, repeat every 3 hours, if it is not tooth problem, the pain should disappear 6 hours later. Try it!
