Tooth ache question.... Help please...?

I've had a root canal about 9 months ago and for the past week or so my crown has been hurting really bad when I eat. Today it started hurting if I close my mouth and put my teeth together. There's not supposed to be any nerve in it, right, so how can it be hurting? Help please... It hurts pretty bad but I can't go to the dentist for a while because my parents don't have the money right now...

Tooth ache question.... Help please...?
So many people don't believe this, but it's absolutely true...When you have a tooth ache, swishing warm salt water in your mouth **TAKES THE PAIN AWAY INSTANTLY!** I didn't believe it either, until an E.R. doctor explained it to me; warm salt water 'normalizes' the pH level in your mouth, therefore the nerve calms down. Hope this helps!
Reply:I dont know why its hurting..but when I had toothache I used this clove oil stuff which is brilliant. you buy it from the chemist and it numbs the pain totally for a few hours when you put it on your teeth. the only problem about that tho is the first couple of minutes it stings your mouth..but its worth it coz it numbs your pain for a long time after.

ps you say your parents cant afford the dentist...just checking youre not under 18 and living in th uk are you? as if you are you are of course entitled to free NHS treatment.

=) hope your tooth is better soon !
Reply:I think it's because your crown may be what we call "too high" if the crown is sitting too high, all the dentist needs to do is grind it down a bit, they will use this paper called articulating paper to see where the high spots are on your crown. For you to do this it wouldnt cost anything so i would call your dentist and tell them. Good luck sweety!
Reply:Seems to be a bacterial infection. Clove oil is the best home remedy for toothaches. Even dentists use it. I found the information at http://aches.in/toothacheremedies.html useful
