5 weeks pregnant severe tooth ache???

I'm 5 weeks pregnant and woke up today with the most severe tooth ache I have EVER had in my entire life! I was in tears and my 3 year old keeps kissing my cheek to fix my "booboo". I took a Tylenol which seems to be easing the pain slightly. Ambesol is also working to help numb it a little. Orajel did NOTHING. I want to call my dentist and make an appointment but I'm scared about the harm it can do to my baby...What can I have done? Its due to a lost filling. But my doctor had to cancel my original appt due to an emergency with him. So I wasn't able to get it fixed. I'm scared it will now need a root canal or maybe even need to be pulled! Its way in the back of my mouth. What will this do to my unborn baby?? What else can I do?? It hurts so bad! I would like to wait until after the baby is born, but there is NO WAY i can go that long!

When I was pregnant with my 3rd my teeth went to crap. I had to have a lot of work done. Fillings and a root canal all while I was pregnant. Talk to your doctor he can tell you what you can have done that is safe. The dentist just has to use a different numbing medication, at least thats what they did for me. I feel your pain!! Good luck and try to feel better!!
Reply:CALL THE DENTIST, make the appointment, then call your OB and they will fax to your dentist approved drugs/procedures

dont worry about the baby your OB will let the dentist know what he/she can do to you
Reply:I had a tooth pulled during my third pregnancy. Dental care is not only allowed during pregnancy it is recomended to keep dental appointments. You will likely need a release from your OB to have anythign done but most work CAn be done.
Reply:antibiotics should fix it within 24 hours...your dentist knows. be sure he knows you are preggy.

try eating bread for now....it clogs the tooth from air awhile.
Reply:It's far more likely for an infected tooth to harm your baby than for anything the dentist does to harm your baby.

Dental care is CRITICAL in pregnancy.

Get to the dentist ASAP!!!

This isn't something to mess around with... seriously.
