Painful tooth ache after 1st part of root canal and filling.?

I recently got the first part of the root canal procedure where he drilled down the tooth and picked at it a bit. Now after throbbing, sharp pain for about 2 hours, any pressure applied to my tooth hurts still. The pain has subsided except for when any pressure is applied to the tooth now that i have taken 4 motrin 200mg and 1 Vicodin. I dont know what to do please help.

you could have got infection in there, or not all the root has been removed. you need to see dentist again to check it out.
Reply:It would appear that there is still infection present in this tooth. Sometimes it takes more than one appointment to clear an infection. You should contact the endodontist (or dds) on Monday. They either willl want to see you on that day or put you on antibiotics to help settle the tooth.

So sorry, I know these can HURT.
Reply:it is still infected. the ligaments a bruise so when its touch its painfull specially to biting or chewing but not on temperature. also the temporary filling might be off causing your bite to hit on that tooth first. well until the root canal is finish it will be still sore. go back to your dentist and have them check it. there's a reason why they prescribe you vicodin. until that antibiotic kicks in you will have discomfort.
Reply:I once had a root canal that took several weeks to complete because the infection would not go away. My dentist gave me 800mg of ibuprofen. I feel for you.
