Tooth ache Help Please?
There is a possibility the dentist has left some of the root in the area. Also, there may be nerves that are sending a message that you may have some abcess in the bone.
Reply:If there is a hole in your tooth then you can put half a Disprin tablet in your tooth. That helps. If it doesnt go to another dentist and get a second or even a third opinion.Hope you get wel soon
Reply:Get some vodka or rum or whiskey and swirl it around your mouth etc into that tooth etc to numb it and then maybe take a few swigs off the alcohol just to put you out for sleep, thats the best advice I have. good luck.
Reply:Put a wet rag in the microwave to get it nice and hot. Put it on your face where the pain is (dont burn yourself). The heat will do wonders. Also rinse (dont gargle) with hot salt water for relief.Take your painpills so they overlap. IT will be harder to stop the pain if you forget any pill.
Reply:Ooh If the Hydrocodone isn't helping there sure isn't anyone going to help you here for ideas to relieve pain. Call your Dr ASAP when they open and let them know you need something stronger. Unfortunately with an abscessed tooth you cannot get it pulled until healed no matter how many dentist you go to for another opinion.
Reply:Filling the hole with little table-salt gives me immediate and temporary relief. As a next step i wud go for some pain-killer like Imol or Brufen. Don't sleep by the side u tooth is affected.Don't keep it warm by keeping ur hands there.
Reply:go back and see them...you won't get any painkillers here
Reply:try using an ice pack it will hell take the edge off
Reply:toothpaste on the tooth numbs the pain. it worked for me
Reply:I had an abcess and was given an antibiotic. Because RX pain meds make me throw up, they gave me Ibuprofen 800 mg, 3 times a day. It took 4 days of those before the horrible pain was gone, and then several days of 2 times a day to keep it from coming back. By that time, my root canal appointment was upon me and now I have no pain at all.

My dentist told me that neither cold nor heat would help the pain.
Reply:Mix some peroxide and Listerine together in a cup and rinse your mouth on the side where the troublesome tooth is. That used to work for me before my tooth got pulled.
Reply:i went thru the same exact thang i kno how u feel i would jus stay taking to hydo.pills and lay down and rest u had better medicine than me i had a absess and didnt get to the dentisit and only was taking tylenol so be thankful
Reply:you can go to the ER. That happened to a friend of mine. If it gets unbearable or even close you really should go.
Reply:A good stiff drink if your over 21. Also you may try the couple of over the counter things like ambosol or mouthaid to help numb it.
Reply:It might take few days, the 24 hrs is bull, it depends per case.

Some people might not take enough anti bio. per say 800mg

would be ideal, 850, 600, etc not 200mg. not even kids take

that little.

I have found that not messing with the area and keeping it clean, use mouth wash every 4 hours and after every time you eat, brush your teeth, soft brush.

Do not give in to your dentist to do extraction while you still have

the infection. I do not know why some even suggest extraction same day of the visit. That's insane, they need to prescribe pain killers and antibiotics to have it go away and after go in for root canal, extraction, implant or bridge.
