Can an ear infection lead to deafness or a tooth ache?
well yea i was born hearing and then about 6 month later i had a ear infection and sickness so i became deaf but im severly modrate deaf so that means im not really deaf im close to hard of hearing but yes ear infection can lead to deafness
Reply:Yes, it does. See a doctor.
Reply:it can lead to deafness and also amputation...get that shlt checked out
Reply:yes an ear infection can.
Reply:You ears nose and throat are all connected, so yes an infection in one can lead too other problems.
Reply:you should see an eye, ear, and nose doctor, all these are tied together.
Reply:Left untreated ear infections definately can cause hearing loss and yes tooth problems too. I would consider having them check for a sinus infection too though as this can cause toothaces.

Also see your dentist to be sure you don't have a dental problem too.
Reply:i should say it a highly thing to happen, prevention is better that cure.

get rid of infections as early as possible
Reply:Keep taking your medication and see the DR regularly til the infection is gone.
Reply:I always heard that a toothache can cause and ear infection. I would go and see a specialist about your ear.
Reply:If the ear infection gets too bad, it can preforate your eardrum, and you won't be able to hear out of that ear. I don't know about ear infections giving you a toothache, but a sinus infection sure can - maybe your infection has spread.

If it's been a couple of days since you started taking the pills, and you're not feeling better, then you need to get yourself back to the doctor.
Reply:You may need to go back to the doctor. Fluid has probably built up in your ear causing your ear to not be able to hear as well. If it goes untreated it could cause permanent hearing loss form the damage of not being treated properly. Yes, an ear infection can cause a bit of a tooth ache. Still go back to the doctor, he may need to change your prescription or give you an additional one.
Reply:Yes, if not treated. You need antibiotics (I hope those are the pills they gave you), and a good decongestant.

Eyes, Ears, Nose and Throat are all connected. When I get a sinus infection, all of the above, plus my neck glands and gums become infected and hurt.

My daughter just went to the emergency room--they tested for strep throat, and found that she also had a middle-ear infection. They said if she had waited one day longer, her eardrum could have ruptured. They prescribed 10-days of antibiotics, and 10 days of a strong decongestant.
Reply:Yes to both if the ear infection is not properly treated. You may also start with a dental infection that spreads up to the ear or the mastoid. It is important that you get proper medical attention, and be reassessed if you are not getting better.

Your hearing may be dulled temporarily due to fluid in the middle ear. Decongestants like Sudafed can help with that, but don't overuse them
