put some oral jel on it, you can find it at walgreens, or rite-aid.
Reply:sounds like you let a cavity get bad enough to the point it has hit the root of the tooth. You are gonan have to bite the bullet and go to the dentist, its the only way to deal with the problem. if not, it just gets worse.
Reply:Go back to the dentist. Something is not right. I had some dental work done one time, but there was a nerve in my cheek that just wouldn't stop with the intense pain. I ended up having the tooth pulled because nothing would stop the pain.
Reply:You need to go back to your dentist asap!

But until then, there is a medicine at the drugstore that de-sensitizes for cold/hot, I can't think of the name though. Also, use ibuprofen (tylenol doesn't work as well) for pain or try ora-jel. It tastes gross but it works.
Reply:Sounds like you may need a root canal. If you had a cavity filled and your tooth is still hurting then maybe the decay was deeper than the X-ray showed.

Return to the dentist --- make sure your tooth is not infected.

This is not normal.
Reply:If you're cold sensitive, you may have lost part of your filling and the nerves got a bit exposed. Go to see your dentist and fill it back up. You may need a root canal or extraction if the nerves are too close to the cavity.
