Tooth ache now for 3 days?

ive recently been flossing which i havnt done as routinely before, and now have quite a swollen red gum at the top back of my mouth. Its aching quite alot and i can feel the ache on my face, about two months ago i had the same thing and it went after a week. There isnt a lump or anything like a absess, but im worried its the start of one, or have i just damaged my gum?.

I have a full course of antibiotics (amoxicillin) which i could start taking. Should i start taking them now, or wait?. Im 60 miles from my dentist as im working away from home, and cant really afford to go...

You could use the antibiotic. I am thinkiing you just iritated your gums. Try ibuprofen for the pain and inflammation. I hope it goes away for ya!
Reply:Take the antibiotics
Reply:definetly take the antibiotics. if there is an infection starting to brew, the antibiotics will take care of it. it does take 2-3 days for the antibiotics to kick in but once they do, continue taking them until they are all gone. try to go see your dentist as soon as you get home to see it is a tooth or maybe a gum infection. if it is a tooth problem, its important to find out if it can be fixed or if it needs to be removed. antibiotics are only a bandaid for the situation so make sure you get some attention to the problem, don't wait till it starts hurting again :-) good luck!
