Actually, prescription strength ibuprofen is prescribed more frequently than narcotics because of it's anti-inflammatory properties. Sometimes, Tylenol #3 or Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) are prescribed if ibuprofen is inadequate. OxyContin is not prescribed for toothache because it's for long-term use.

Reply:No oxycontin is only use for severe pain. For tooth pain the doc would prescribe Darvocet, Vicodin or Tylenol with Codeine.
