What can I get in a pharmacy for the pain of a bad tooth-ache?

Is there a good tooth-ache? Anyway, I've gotta wait a while for an appointment with the toothman. So please -- HELP.

What can I get in a pharmacy for the pain of a bad tooth-ache?
Take couple Advil every four hours, don't exceed the maximum dosage per day. Once you get the Advil in your system you may be able to drop back to one every three hours or so.

Good luck, some toothaches can really be painful.
Reply:percocet
Reply:The best thing is Advil. You can take up to 3 at a time and rotate with tylenol every 4 hours. If you are still in pain go to the ER and they will prescribe you something till you can get to the dentist. Some ER's will refer you to a dentist and get you in sooner.
Reply:Anbesol...or is it ambesol...oil if cloves I know that works.

Yeah its the tube of numbing stuff..gotta go my brain cells just ran out onto the floor.
Reply:If you go into the dental section at a pharmacy or walmart/kmart you can look for a small package that has a small lip gloss looking container. It has a pink jelly inside of it and on the lid it has a picture of a tooth. You put that around the tooth and in one minute you can't feel any pain. It works wonders! there's also a box that has little sticks with a Q-tip on one end. The Q-tip has a bit of liquid on it and when you apply that to the area it also numbs the whole thing and you won't feel the ache for a few hours, depending on how bad the pain is and how much you apply to the area.
Reply:UNLESS YOU HAVE A PRESCRIPTION A NARCOTIC LIKE SOMEONE SUGGESTED IS UNAVAILABLE.

A GOOD ALTERNATIVE IS IBUPROFEN (ADVIL) 3-4 TABS EVERY 4-6 HOURS FOR THE CONTROL OF PAIN THIS IS EQUIVALENT TO TAKING A MOTRIN 800mg.

THE IBUPROFEN IS FOR SALE W/O A PRESCRIPTION AND MOST PEOPLE HAVE GREATER PAIN RERLIEF THAN NARCOTICS.
