Really bad tooth ache?
Sounds like your tooth is infected. If you don't have insurance and can't afford the dentist, I would suggest going to the emergency room... at least there they can prescribe you an antibiotic and some pain medication. Even without insurance, an emergency room at a hospital has to see you and treat you. The antibiotic will take care of the infection now and the pain should go away.. however, beware.. until you see a dentist and have the tooth either fixed or taken out, it's going to eventually become infected again and you'll once again be in pain.

Until you can either get to a dentist or get to an emergency room, you can take 800 mg of Ibuprofen which is prescription strength for the pain. It has an anti-inflammatory in it so it's going to work better than Tylenol or aspirin.

Good luck to you.
Reply:Yeah, you've got a tooth problem, go to the dentist idiot!
Reply:Sounds like an abcessed tooth. You may need antibiotics and some dental work.
Reply:You might have an infection in one of your teeth. Try to keep your mouth very clean (gargle, brush teeth, etc) untill you can see a dentist, which you should do as soon as you can.
Reply:You could have an absessed tooth. You need to see your dentist. In the mean time you can use anbesol, and tylenol for the pain.
Reply:You've developed an infection. You are going to need antibiotics before the dentist will do anything. Call for an appointment, he can take a look and perscribe them.

The following advice may be helpful until you are able to see your dentist: avoid hot, cold or sweet stimuli. This will help prevent pain from pulpitis. if the pain is prolonged and severe, painkillers may provide some relief. Remember even if the pain goes away, without treatment it will eventually become worse. if the pain is caused by exposed root surfaces, toothpaste for sensitive teeth, either used normally or rubbed onto the exposed root, may be helpful. a hot saltwater mouthwash (a teaspoon of salt to a cup of water) used to thoroughly rinse the painful area may help if the problem is caused by a tooth erupting. a saltwater mouthwash can also prevent infection if you have mouth ulcers. visit your dentist as soon as possible.

The following problems can also cause symptoms similar to toothache, even though the teeth themselves may be free of disease:

* an abscess in the gum (lateral periodontal abscess).

* ulceration of the gums (acute ulcerative gingivitis). ulceration of the soft tissues can sometimes be mistaken for toothache.

* inflammation of the gum around a tooth which is in the process of growing/breaking through (pericoronitis).

* inflammation of the sinuses can be mistaken for toothache in the upper jaw.

It is worth remembering that the nerves supplying the teeth sometimes give the wrong message to the brain. This means that, although you feel pain in a particular tooth, the problem may actually be in a different tooth - even one located in the opposite jaw.
Reply:Maybe you should consult a dentist, or maybe even a physician, i get toothaches alot to and usually i gargle alchohol, it hurts alot when you do it but it will get rid of the pain, and for the bump is probably a blister of some sort and salt water should help, if it doesnt then you should see a dentist for more help.
Reply:You have an abcess which is a puss pocket like a pimple in your gum area maybe from an corn husk jarred in your gum or a heavily decayed tooth....if left alone can cause health problems and more pain and possible loss of tooth....(i was a dental surgical asst for 10 years )

I agree with GO TO THE DENTIST !!!!
Reply:you're going to have to "bite the bullet" and go see a dentist. if you have an absess it's important to get that taken care of right away because if it's not, it can do a lot more damage to your entire facial structure.

What I did when the I maxed out on painkiller quantities for the day was to keep water in my mouth 24 hours a day. I drank about 5-6 bottles of 16oz of water per day. After 1-2 days, the pain disappeared i believe because i had cleansed it out. This bought me enough time to get to a dentist.
Reply:yes, and I have some ways to ease the pain 4 you.....

-take two aspirins

-apply oil of cloves

-cool the swelling

-chill the pain

-keep your head up

-rinse

-floss

-be carefull with hot, the cold and the sweet

-plug it

I hope it works! if not made an appointment with your dentist,ok!
