I have a swollen face due to chronic tooth ache? Help?

I have had a severe tooth ache for about five days after hitting my tooth on a coffee mug. I went to the dentist yesterday and he said that I jammed it into the nerve and that there was nothing he could do. He persisted to work on the tooth although I had jammed it, and now the very next day it is really swollen and my face is in pain. What should I do?

I have a swollen face due to chronic tooth ache? Help?
Go to a different dentist. Get a root canal and some antibiotics. In the mean time take advil. There are a lot of dentists who do emergency work in the phone book.
Reply:Take some Advil to take the inflammation down and call your dentist back because you may have an infection under there.
Reply:Hit it with a ball peen hammer
Reply:I would suggest that you take some aspiring and put some ice on your face where it hurts the most. Since you jammed in in the nerve, its irritated and may have an infection.
Reply:that huge bump is most probably an abscess, call your dentist for an antibiotic...........

you will need root canal to save this tooth
