How Do you reduce swelling because of a tooth ache?
You said that you were taking medicine, but you didn't say that you were taking an antibiotic. If you're not, call your dentist NOW and see if he'll call one in for you. When your face begins to swell like that, it really needs attention ASAP.

You need to have the tooth taken out by an oral surgeon. But I have a feeling that you've already been told that. It's not gonna get any better. Just go and have it done.

Hope you feel better soon
Reply:Antibiotics.
Reply:ibuprofen
Reply:Advil always works well for me and you don't have to worry about taking too much I've taken up to 800-1000 mg when the pain and swelling have been very bad.
Reply:If you can take aspirin, that will help. If not, then take acetaminophen. It is an anti-inflammatory.
Reply:What you might want to do is.Get some peroxide solution and gargle with it gust don't sallow it please.Only a small teaspoon.
Reply:You need to be taking the medicine 48 hours to be effective

Put ice on the swollen cheek and sleep with 2 or 3 pillows so you are propped up some
Reply:Put an icepack against your cheek where the tooth is or ice wrapped in a washcloth. This should help temporarily, but if it is a throbbing pain you probably have an absess that needs to be drained by the dentist which should give instant relief.
