Tooth ache?

One of my molars has a filling. It's never bothered me until the past couple of days. When I'm sitting up it's fine, but when I lay down it hurts a lot, keeping me from sleep. What's wrong?

Tooth ache?
As a dentist I can tell you that there are a number of problems you could be having. When you lay down try using a cold compress to help ease the pain, never use heat because if there is a possible infection the heat can make it much worse. Also try taking Motrin, this will usually help with minor toothaches and will help relieve any inflammation. I would also highly recommend seeing your regular dentist to be on the safe side of things. If there is infection present you will need antibiotics and the tooth will need to be looked at by your dentist to discuss treatment options. Good luck!
Reply:sounds like you have an infection in there. You are going to need meds. Go see a dentist. Also, it may need a root canal.
Reply:I agree with the dentist, lol. Only thing that I would do different is I put Kanka (can be bought at Wal-Mart) on a toothache as it pretty much stops the pain instantly. But I would still take the Moltrin too. This would all be done until you could get in to see the dentist. And then go from there as to what the dentist tells you to do.
